Welcome to Practical Spanish. Do you want to learn about the origin of this language, its grammar, how to build simple sentences and understand the main differences between Spanish and English?
This course teaches the Spanish spoken in Spain (where this language was born!). Anyone interested in this language can learn the basics, as this course does not require special skills or previous knowledge. Instructor Angeles Fernandez -Spanish native-speaker- will teach you the essentials. You'll have the opportunity to join our Chat Group and practice or ask any question you may have. Unit 1 The Origin of the Spanish Language :
Hola! Hello! Welcome to Practical Spanish! The first step is to understand how Spanish Language was born and the different influences received from others languages: English, French,... etc.
Unit 2 The First Step: Simple Sentences in Spanish :
The first step to understand how Spanish Language works, will be using very simple sentences and studying their components. This lesson explains how Personal Pronouns and Indefinite Articles are used in Spanish.
Unit 3 Verbs Haber and Tener :
This unit covers the use and basics about two important Spanish verbs: Haber and Tener.
Unit 4 Spanish Adjectives, Definite Articles and Verbs Ser and Estar :
This unit explains how Spanish adjectives, definite articles and verbs "ser" and "estar" must be used. We will use practical examples.
Unit 5 Numbers in Spanish :
This Unit explains the use, pronunciation and some rules about Spanish numbers, from 1 to 100.
Unit 6. Qu hora es? What time is it? :
After having studied Spanish numbers, you are now prepared to learn some useful expressions of time.
Unit 7. Adjetivos Posesivos - Los colores. :
Unit 7 includes 2 sections: grammar and practical vocabulary;
1. Grammar point: the definition and listing/translation of Spanish possessive adjectives and their use.
2. Practical vocabulary: "Los colores" (Colors).
Unit 8. Greetings. Negative and Interrogative sentences. :
This Unit includes two main points:
1.- Spanish greetings dialog. " Hola! C mo est s?" (Hello! How are you?)".
2.- Negative and Interrogative sentences.
